They Say Time Changes Everything

But Does It Really?

You have no doubt heard the saying “time changes everything.” Or, “it will get better with time.” But does it really work like that? I do not think so, and here are the reasons why.

As we get older, we become more aware of the consequences of our actions. Time has nothing to do with this. Sure, you can think of ageing as a form of time, but ageing does not bring wisdom. Our wisdom and understanding comes through the experiences that occur daily in our lives. You did not learn that flames are hot by looking at the second hand of your watch, you learned it either by having a finger burned or by education.

If you have been unfortunate to have suffered the loss of a loved one, you will know that time does not heal all wounds. Instead, we “cure” our pain by

taking onboard all the cherished moments we had with that person and carrying those jewels with us constantly.

Our technology is now vastly different from that of the 1980’s. That has been achieved by the vision of technicians and scientists. These changes have taken time to occur but time itself had nothing to do with it.

So whilst things change over time, time does not really change them.
