Donald Duck

Most of us would have grown up with Donald Duck cartoons on the telly at some point in our lives.

Donald Duck is a character created in the Walt Disney studio in 1934 and is one of the most enduring, and endearing, characters to come out of the famous studio. In Norwegian countries, Donald was a favourite cartoon in comics right up to 2009. In fact the comics he is in are still the most popular worldwide with exception of the superhero genre.

Donald has featured in over 140 odd feature length movies. He often co-starred with Goofy plus his nephews, Hewey, Dewey and Louie.

His roles have been very varied, from “Chips Ahoy” where he plays a captain trying to get his boat back from thieving chipmunks (stars in their own right) to playing Scrooge in “Mickey’s Christmas Carol”.

Many of his movies were recognised by the Academy Awards.

From hero to bumbling, accident prone foil to other characters, you can’t help loving Donald Duck.
